Piggy Bow Embroidery Design

You will use 2 files in whichever size youre embroidering, bow_piggy_applique and bow_piggy_applique-cuts. The second file is for printing only, not for stitching. You can print it on card stock, cut out the pieces and use them to trace the shapes on the paper side of your iron on adhesive or you can print directly on the paper side of your iron on adhesive. I prefer to print on card stock because printing directly on the adhesive paper is so wasteful. Not all the pieces will be cut from the same fabric, or course. The cuts are reversed so they can be traced on the BACK of the fabric. (If you use Pulse Ambassador with the POF files to change the size, be sure to change BOTH files by exactly the same percentage.) When its time to assemble your applique your Brother or BabyLock machine will display applique placement as the color when youll be stitching the outline that will tell you exactly where to put the fabric piece and applique as the color when youll be stitching the zigzag stitch to tack it down. If youve converted to another format, the stitching order is as follows: 1. light brown (feet) 2. placement for body 3. zigzag around bottom part of body, body detail 4. placement for bow 5. zigzag around bow, bow detail 6. white (eyes) 7. dark brown (eyes and eyelashes) 8. red (tongue) 9. zigzag around head 10. placement for shout 11. mouth, zigzag around snout 12. pink (cheeks and ears) For your zigzags, youll want to choose a color that closely matches the background color of the fabric. Stitch the placement and the zigzag for each piece in the same color to cut down on thread changes. You have some choices here. On my sample, I used a pink and white gingham for the piggy body and a solid pink for the snout. I used the same pink thread for both the applique and the cheeks, so when I changed my thread to pink for #9, I didnt have to change it again.
